Sites 'tween Dallas & OKC?

We%26#39;ve found flight connections to OKC to be pretty miserable. (Going for a week-end meeting from east coast.) Looks like flying to Dallas %26amp; renting a car would actually reduce our travel time.

Any recommendations for things to see along the way? Looks like a straight shot/easy ride. Any recommended natural areas, or landscape changes, or chow stops?

Thanks!

If you travel from Dallas to OKC via Hwy 81, there is a nice hotel (Chisolm Suites) and a must-see Chisolm Trail Heritage Museum. It is state of the art and makes for a nice afternoon away from business, when traveling.

The Chisolm Suites Hotel is in Duncan, OK, between Dallas and OKC.

Thank you.

Turner Falls and any of the areas around the Arbuckles are

nice.

Stop by the beautiful University of Oklahoma campus in Norman.

I second the stop at Turner Falls... It%26#39;ll be a quick stop, but it%26#39;s worth seeing.

If you are going to go to Turner Fall%26#39;s don%26#39;t forget to take your bathing suit.... also check out Arbuckle Wilderness it%26#39;s a ton of fun. There are plenty of place and thing%26#39;s to do just gotta watch the signs... Plenty of ';chow'; as well... look off the beaten path don%26#39;t look to chain%26#39;s look to Mom and Pop places off the hiway they are usualy worth the trip.

Yes, I would recommend Turner Falls and the Arbuckle Wilderness in Southern Oklahoma. Also check out the Chickasaw National Recreation Area in the general vicinity with it%26#39;s mineral springs. Closer to the OKC metro area tour the beautiful University of Oklahoma campus - the Oklahoma Museum of Natural History is terrific. From a Northern Californian (originally from Oklahoma) who vacations in the Sooner State every Fall.

I%26#39;ll second the vote for Chickasaw National Recreation Area, in Sulphur, just east of I-35; be sure to stop by the Travertine Nature Center in the park. If going there or Turner Falls, stop by Davis%26#39;s main street: lots of antiques, nice coffee shop.

The Goddard Center in Ardmore frequently has some interesting art exhibits; you might want to call ahead to check.

The Natural History Museum in Norman is nice, as is the OKC Museum of Art; wonderful Chihuly (sp?) glass.
