Have 1 night in OKC, what do u do?

Coming to OKC for a business trip. Have one night maybe two to see the town. Bricktown the way to go? What about casinos? Are any of the indian casinos worth going to? Thanks

I think Bricktown has the most to offer for a short stay. You%26#39;re reasonably close to the Memorial as well as the Arts Center, the Ballpark and the National History Museum. Clubs are in abundance in Bricktown and there are great restaurants to choose from with varied menu%26#39;s. Any casino%26#39;s are going to be anywhere from 30-45 minutes away. Thunderbird and Lucky Star are the closest I believe. Someone else here can probably give you more info on that. There is a new Courtyard by Marriott in Bricktown as well as a Sheraton and Renaissance Hotels. Beware of booking anything that has ';Bricktown'; in the title. You can always post here for information. I hope this helps. Please feel free to ask other questions. Enjoy your visit.

Cindsu%26#39;s right. A lot of hotels and other businesses have taken advantage of the Bricktown name although they%26#39;re nowhere near Bricktown. Check out bricktownokc.com for a list of businesses within the district.

When are you coming over? These days, the hot thing to do are the Hornets NBA team. You might be able to snag a ticket and join the raucous crowds. Your homeboy Chris Paul is tearing up the Ford Center. If you%26#39;re here soon, you might be able to catch Blazers hockey game also at the Ford Center.

If it%26#39;s Thursday night, I recommend having drinks at OKC%26#39;s Museum of Art downtown. A great opportunity to see locals and the skyline. The cocktail parties begin on May 4. On weekends, the museum%26#39;s popular film screenings bring you foreign, independent, or classic films.

If it%26#39;s the weekend, the bars, clubs, and lounges in Bricktown are pretty cool. Before you go, can eat at one of several restaurants. If you tell us what your favorite cuisine is, we can recommend a downtown restaurant.

If you%26#39;re searching for a cowboy experience, try Club Rodeo on Meridian, close to the airport.

IMO, there aren%26#39;t any casinos in the local area worth going to. Remington Park has a small casino within its exciting racetrack.

Tell us what night you%26#39;re coming and what cuisine you like and we can help you further.

Thank you for the responses. Last week of april seems to be the target date for the meeting. Most likely will be a middle of the week stay. Was looking at Micky Mantle Rest or I love this bar. Believe me about the entertainment calendar, there is nothing on it for OKC when I plan on being there. Thanks for the input

Looks like the RedHawks will be in town when you%26#39;re here. That%26#39;s a great little AAA stadium..probably the best in the league. I%26#39;d stay away from Mickey Mantle%26#39;s...pretty stuffy, with overpriced, not so great steak. Across the street is THE Mantel, with great food, though. After the game, jump over to Lit (it%26#39;s right there) and sit on their upstairs patio...it%26#39;s my favorite place to have an evening drink.

I forgot...stay away from the casinos. They%26#39;re not what you%26#39;re looking for if it%26#39;s Vegas style fun...kinda dirty, overpriced, no beverages at tables. Ick!

NCGUY, you are in luck. The Festival of the Arts is that week in downtown OKC! Artists%26#39; works will be in display until 9PM, and performing artists will be going until around 8:30PM. There will be an international food row and street performers as well. And admission is free!

This is one of the most popular events in the city. Take a look:

Don%26#39;t bother with Mickey Mantle%26#39;s. IMO it%26#39;s overpriced. If you want a great meal with a nice atmosphere, there is a place cat-a-corner from Mickey Mantle%26#39;s called the MANTEL (as in fireplace Mantel) at 201 E Sheridan Ave. (NE Corner of Mickey Mantle DR/Walnut Avenue and E. Sheridan.) Much better food and atmosphere and no more $$$ than Mickey Mantle%26#39;s (although neither one is inexpensive.)

I haven%26#39;t been to I Love This Bar, but it%26#39;s basically a restaurant bar from those I%26#39;ve talked to. More touristy than most of the places in Bricktown. But it%26#39;s casual, C%26amp;W and mostly fun.
