Please Help

We are scheduled to move from Louisville to Oklahoma in spring 2008 and we want to know what are the bad parts of Oklahoma? Also are there any good truck driving jobs in the state. I need to know what is the crime rate? I have alot to learn in the next 7 months.

anthony-- when you travel to Oklahoma in a few months there are only a few pockets mainly in the big cities that are really anything to worry about. For the most part people are friendly and helpful and this is a long ways from your most crime riddled state. The roads are heavy with truck traffic so I would expect there are jobs from short haul to nationwide. Checking out individual cities is a good idea. There is just tons of information available on the web for just about every one.

Here is southeast Oklahoma there are a couple large trucking companies and it is the pretties part of the state and cost of living is very cheap. The two trucking companies are Jimmy Tucker Trucking and Daryl Thomason Trucking in Broken Bow. There are also lots of truck driving jobs in the timber industry.

There are lots of trucking jobs in Oklahoma. Oklahoma in general is in a boom right now because of oil, plus we haven%26#39;t been hit as hard by the real estate downturn as the rest of the nation.

Oklahoma is a varied state. The western half is prairie, flatter, a few rolling hills, with SW Oklahoma being somewhat arid. I grew up out there and I think there is a special beauty to the country. The eastern half is pretty too because there%26#39;s lots more trees and more hills. There%26#39;s actually a national forest in SE Oklahoma.

As far as places to avoid, I don%26#39;t think there is one. I%26#39;m sure that there are good and bad neighborhoods to each town, but a local real estate agent can direct you in that area. You will find that Oklahomans are good, decent people, friendly and will help out in times of trouble.

What jodiebo said, People here are great! You will like it! You didn%26#39;t say where you are moving to in Oklahoma. Oklahoma City and Tulsa, both have several trucking companies. Hobby Lobby Inc. Corporate offices are located here in Okla City. They have their own trucking company within the corporation. They are always looking for drivers. You may want to check their website. I have 2 homes in the Okla City area for sale right now. It is a buyers market here. You can get a lot of house for your money. Best Wishes!

Dowtown is spotty...Edmond is nice, but somewhat pricey. By the airport to the south is nice. Moore area. I lived there for 7 years, in 3 different areas. I rented a house by Lake Heffner...very nice...downtown in a highrise...that was ok...and had a house on the south side at May and 96th st. Nice area. Crime overall is not bad. Don%26#39;t know about trucking jobs. I work for an airline.
