Since you won%26#39;t have a car, it will be a little difficult to get a hotel near shop and Bricktown. One or the other, but not both.

Personally, I would stay closer to Bricktown. There are a few shops in the downtown area and the Bricktown location has the restaurants and the entertainment. Also, downtown has the OK Musem of Art, the Murrah Memorial and is a short trip by cab to the Capitol complex.

RIght now I would look into the Renaissance or the Courtyard OKC Downtown. They are not the least expensive hotels in OKC, but two of the nicer ones. By next year there will be at least one more hotel in the downtown area, so keep checking for updates - both on the map referenced in the previous post and here on this forum. (Renaissance is #6 and Courtyard is #13.)

For shopping, you will be a short cab ride to Penn Square Mall to the north which has the typical mall shops. It%26#39;s also a short cab trip to Crossroads Mall, another typical mall.

What type of shops are you looking for? That will affect any more localized areas you can be pointed to. The only problem there is other than the malls, shopping in OKC is not all that localized and where they are grouped together there usually aren%26#39;t that many together which would mean multiple cab rides as most of the time walking is not an option due to distance and lack of sidewalks.
