I will be arriving in OKC on 4/14 at noon and staying over night, but the next day is dedicated to work. It is my first time here and would love to see a few things while here.
I have interest in the cowboy museum, the stockyards and the zoo. I am not that into art, but love cowboys, rodeos, you name it.
So, what are some things I can fit in and where is the best place to stay so I can visit great places?
In OKC from just noon till midnight
The National Cowboy %26amp; Western Heritage Museum is on NW 63rd St just West of Martin Luther King (MLK) Blvd. The Zoo is at NW 50th St and MLK Blvd (About a mile south of the museum.) Remington Park Racetrack and Casino is located at NW 54th St. and MLK.
The Stockyards are by S. Agnew Ave and Exchange Ave.
If you stay in the Bricktown area you will have reasonably easy access to all three sights as long as you have a car.
As far as I can tell there are no rodeos or similar events in the OKC area April 14th. But then, any of the three things you specifically mentioned could take every bit of your time for a single afternoon/evening.
Have fun!

The cowboy museum is very interesting. The area called Bricktown has some restaurants such as Toby Keith%26#39;s ';I love this Bar %26amp; Grill'; There is a small river canal that runs through bricktown, it ends at the Bass Pro Shop.
I will be in NYC for the first time in May so I have been reading plenty of posts to help me out with our NYC trip.
Hope you enjoy your quick visit to Oklahoma.
Make sure you post on the NYC forum if you have any questions for which you can%26#39;t find answers. They%26#39;re a great group of experts over there.
If you will have a car and would like a great steak dinner, try Ranch Steakhouse on W. Britton Rd. and N. May Avenue. They serve prime steaks and the atmosphere is very much Texas ranch and old west. Wonderful service as well.
You might to also consider the OKC National Memorial. It%26#39;s a very moving experience.
