Coming to Tulsa Town this weekend- anything we need to see, do that is not the typical museum/zoo fare? We%26#39;re laid back but need some great things to see and do

I%26#39;m never in Tulsa for breakfast, but if I was, I think I%26#39;d head to about 35th and Peoria, the Brookside area. A number of interesting looking places are in the area; surely one is there with a great breakfast. Some interesting shops, too; I%26#39;m remembering a pottery shop right on Peoria, at about 37th or so. http://www.shopbrookside.com/

I can spend a good long time in Tulsa just wandering downtown with my camera, checking out the architecture, one of the greatest collections of art deco buildings anywhere. Start with the Boston Ave church and go from there www.bostonavenue.org/folders.asp…

Like music? Check out D-Fest, lots of live music %26amp; multiple stages in the vicinity of 18th %26amp; Boston.

Tulsa has a good variety of live music; pick up the Friday Tulsa World %26amp; turn to ';The Spot'; section for what%26#39;s happening this weekend.

Theatre in the round? Check out Discoveryland, playing Oklahoma %26amp; Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, outside complete with horses %26amp; a surrey with the fringe on top. Named a ';National Treasure'; by InStyle Magazine.

Great coffee shop (some lighter foods) to read the paper--DoubleShot, 17th %26amp; Boston.

Great cinnamon rolls @ The Savoy, 60th %26amp; Sheridan.

Another good breakfast place (name escaping me right now) @ 33th %26amp; Harvard, East side of Harvard, facing North on side street.

Check out the small Farmers%26#39; Market at 15th %26amp; Peoria, Saturday morning from 7 am to noon. Get there early if you want the good stuff tho...

The Tulsa Drillers AA baseball team is at home this weekend. Sit in the stands, close to the action, cheap entertainment, watching some future stars play. Best food for dinner--the grilled sausage sandwich, served on a foot-long bun with grilled peppers %26amp; onions.

Summer Heat Horseracing @ the Fairgrounds. Free to get in; alternates thoroughbreds %26amp; quarter horses. The stands are a little shabby, but you can test your skills at betting on the horses for a mere $2 bet.

Superman @ the Imax Theatre. See what the man of steel looks like in 3-D.

Go to Philbrook Art Museum, but don%26#39;t go inside. Skip paying the entry fee %26amp; go %26#39;round the South side %26amp; enjoy the gardens, beautiful this time of year. See if you can find the chef%26#39;s secret herb garden (they do have a restaurant inside if you%26#39;d like a glass of wine or a meal).

Eat dinner outside somewhere--lots of patio dining available in the Brookside area %26amp; in Utica Square. Or just grab a beer %26amp; some grub @ 18th %26amp; Riverside, a little cafe in Tulsa%26#39;s River Parks. Or check out Jenks%26#39; new Riverwalk area, 96th %26amp; Riverside on the West side of the river, lots of dining options %26amp; live music from 6 to 9 or so.
