Any cute towns in OK?

My wife and I are looking to leave Fort Worth behind for a long weekend, and are looking for a cute cafe and small shop kind of aptmosphere. Saftey also rates high on our list. Also, we will be strolling our fivemonth old child around, so we are hoping to find a city/town where we can stay in the heart of the quaintness and not have to do much driving for three nights. Thanks for the help in advance.

Davis is a nice small town with lots of antique shops and easy access to the Chickasaw National Recreation Area for outdoor fun, but I cannot imagine spending three nights in Davis. About two hours north of you on I-35. http://www.davisok.org/

Or what about Guthrie? Oklahoma%26#39;s original capital, the town boasts lots of history, old buildings, interesting downtown, lots of B%26amp;Bs. About 4 hours straight up I-35 from Fort Worth, and close enough to OKC that you could easily make a detour into the city for other activities. http://www.guthrieok.com/

I would go with Radio%26#39;s suggestion and Guthrie. He was spot on with the B%26amp;B%26#39;s and the antique shops and food. They also have the largest Masonic lodge, several small museums (newspaper and Oklahoma historical society), and other attractions - including festivals.

If you can%26#39;t keep yourself busy in Guthrie for a long weekend, the OKC suggestion is good as well. Head to the zoo - especially since the weather seems to be cooling off (FINALLY!)

Have fun!
