Traveling to Edmond/OKC next month and am trying to decide on a decent, yet not too expensive hotel. Hampton INN in Edmond is appox. $110/night where the Extended StayAmerica is only $50/60. The Extended StayAmerica seems find, but it seems too cheap. Is this really an ok place to stay? Any other suggestions on places to stay?
Extended StayAmerica NW vs. Hampton Inn Edmond
okc...the extended stay we stayed at on Meridian (OKC) was not so good...stayed there while waiting to close on our house and it wasn%26#39;t nearly as nice in the room as it looked outside...
Live S in Moore so not real familiar w/ hotels in the Edmond area, but I would think there are much better options..of course if you can afford it I would think the Hampton would be a solid choice
Extended StayAmerica NW vs. Hampton Inn Edmond
While I haven%26#39;t stayed at the Edmond Extended Stay, others are usually pretty basic, both in decor and in amenities. They are usually cheap and adequate, in a bare-bones sort of way.
If you use the Travelocity search-near-an-attraction feature, and put in Quail Springs Mall, you will find all manner of hotels on the north side of Oklahoma CIty: Hampton, Fairfield, Amerisuites, an almost new Best Western, etc. Usually, you can find something in the area for $70-80 which will be as nice as the Hampton in Edmond. Easy access from their to most parts of Edmond and OKC.
If all you want is a place to sleep and shower the Extended Stay hotels aren%26#39;t bad at all. If you are looking for luxury or amenities, then you need to look at a full service hotel. The previous post had some good suggestions.
If you would like more explicit information, tell us exactly what are you expecting in a hotel and we may be able to make more specific suggestions. :)
Thanks for the advice. Staying for 6 nights - just looking for a clean, safe place, possibly within walking distance of a few restaurants.
About the only places I can think of that are in what most people would consider walking distance of a number of restaurants are either downtown OKC near Bricktown, or in the I-40/Meridian area.
The Hampton Inn Quail Springs location also has restaurants located nearby. Walking distance to those is subjective and you have to cross the Turnpike to get to them - which means walking either to May Ave or the crossover by the Mall. The one thing to note - no sidewalks in this area.
Which Extended Stay were you looking at? The one on NW Expressway also has some close but I wouldn%26#39;t call them walking distance.
