Need a Trendy Cool Restaurant in hot area Tulsa

I%26#39;m visiting a friend in Tulsa soon and I want to take her to a trendy, cool, hip, yet not stuffy atmosphere, of a restaurant that has great service, great food and relaxing atmosphere. Perferably someplace in the hot area of Downtown Tulsa, if there is one? and possibly an outdoor area where we can sit and sip on a martini or cocktail after dinner... I know she probably knows all the hotspots since she%26#39;s local, but I would love to take her someplace without her knowing I know about this place... send me links to their website, photos and menus as well as your experiences.

thanks in advance for suggestions...

P.S. also, this place has to be wheelchair friendly. So no crowds of people standing, nuts to butts... Air in between people, tables, is always more appreciative...

thanks =o)

Don%26#39;t know about downtown. Don%26#39;t go there after dark. You might want to try the brookside area. It is Very trendy now, with tons of new restaurants opening. It is the place where you will find outdoor areas to sit and people watch if the weather is decent. It is a little cold right now, but supposed to be in the 80%26#39;s tomorrow. Pei Wei is opening there, and there is always The Brook(used to be a movie theatre) It has outdoor seating. I can%26#39;t think of anything else off hand. If you are set on downtown, try Camareli%26#39;s, I hear the food is great, but I don%26#39;t know about how crowded it is. Tulsa Transplant for 30+ yrs.

Here are a couple of suggestions:

Downtown, try Lola%26#39;s At the Bowery. Website is www.lolasatthebowery.com. Trendy, cool place, neat bar area, wheelchair accessible, good food. Great lunch menu, in the evening the food menu is more of a ';tapas'; or small plates menu; still can make a meal tho.

Brookside area has a lot going on, and some new places. Places to try which are cool, trendy but not crowded wall to wall include Kokoa, www.kokoachocolatier.com; Table 10, www.restauranteur.com/tableten; Ciao (34th %26amp; Peoria) (tho this one can be a little crowded sometimes); %26amp; a brand new one @ 33rd %26amp; Peoria just opened (name escapes me just now, haven%26#39;t been there yet) which reportedly has a ';beds'; theme inside (a la Bed in South Beach).

Any new information on that restuarnat you were talking baout with a ';beds theme';? Sounds very interesting. Going to visit familyt there for the hoilidays. Please help! Thanks. :)

I think the one with the beds is called the living room, not 100% sure, but that is what I have heard. Another cool place is a sushi place in Brookside called In the Raw.

The ';bed'; restaurant is Kampai, 3301 S. Peoria, a sister restaurant of In the Raw (sushi), just down the street. Haven%26#39;t been there yet, but hope to make it soon for a review.

Downtown Tulsa is alive in 2007! New restaurants , and some regulars, have brought the fun back to our lovely city. It is very easy to ejnoy a ballet, opera, theater or broad-way performance at the Performing Arts Center and have dinner before or after. My current favorite restaurants downtown are MeNellies, Mexicalli Cafe, and the Gypsy Coffee house.

Kampai is amazing.. its a real dark atmosphere and it reminds me of a high class L.A. Bar!
