Romatic getaway

My husband and I are celebrating a weekend getaway for our anniversary the first weekend of November in Tulsa. Can you recommend places to stay %26amp; things to do? We don%26#39;t want to break the bank, but would also like to splurge a little. The only thing we have planned currently is dinner at the melting pot on Friday night. A nicer hotel, maybe a whirlpool room might be nice, any ideas of where one might be?

The only places we%26#39;ve been are the mall %26amp; the scrapbooking stores, so please feel free to suggest your favorites!

Thank you. Lori

The Ambassador Hotel is lovely and would be perfect for a romantic weekend. It%26#39;s a little pricey, but it%26#39;s a delightfully redone boutique property. Both the Gilcrease and the Philbrook art museums are worth a visit. The Price Tower in Bartlesville isn%26#39;t too far, either, and it%26#39;s worth seeing since it%26#39;s Frank Lloyd Wright%26#39;s only sky scraper. Restaurant/bar on the top and art museum on the bottom; you can stay there, too.

The Ambassador Hotel is one of the better-kept secrets in Tulsa. They also have a very good restaurant on the ground level, called ';The Chalkboard.'; Haven%26#39;t been there for a while (maybe a year), but the last time I visited, it was still very good, and certainly one of the best restaurants in Tulsa. The hotel, combined with a nice dinner at the Chalkboard, could make for a very nice, romantic evening. For one thing, you could have a few drinks, a nice dinner and a bottle of wine, and not have to worry about how to get safely back to your hotel. I checked their website, and they do have a two-person jacuzzi in the ';Ambassador Suite';, at a rate of about $270 per night, which is definitely near the top end for Tulsa, but downright cheap for a similar accomodation in just about any other city. Of course, living in Moscow, which happens to be the current title-holder for ';most expensive city in the world,'; what seems cheap to me may be outrageous to others. Anyway, hope you find something nice and enjoy your stay in T-Town.
