places to stay in Oklahoma City

My friends and I will be staying in Oklahoma City for one night on our way from LA to Boston. Right now I have a reservation for a Quality Inn off the 240 near the airport. Is that an OK neighborhood? Its probably really out of our way since we are driving on the 40, so is there anywhere else to stay that is more convenient and cheap? We are all college students (we are driving back to school), so price is an issue for us.

How are you heading to Boston after leaving OKC? Are you going by the Southern Route through Arkansas, Tennessee, etc (longer but more scenic). Or will you cut NE from OKC into Missouri, Illinois, Indiana. Ohio (shorter by a few hundred miles)?

If you are headed NE, then there are other options...

Let us know which route you are following.

we are heading from oklahoma city to memphis and nashville and then up to columbus. I found a Clarion on Meridian, and AAA in Oklahoma told me that the Meridian area right of I 40 is a good area. Is that a good option? are there better options? we are looking in the $60-80 range, so I know our options are limited. Thanks for the help!

Interesting way to go. Going to Graceland? :)

The I-40 and Meridian area is as good a place to stay as any for your route. The Clarion (Airport?) has two reviews this year on Tripadvisor and neither of them are very flattering:

It is in the middle of a bunch of Restaurants. The area itself is fine.

Your biggest problem is that most of the cheapest hotels are not in the best shape.

Check the Howard Johnson Oklahoma City at 400 S. Meridian Ave. I think the price might be a little less than the Clarion and it has some decent reviews on Tripadvisor:

The nightly price for two people and two beds appears to be around $70 with the tax.

Good luck and have fun!

haha, actually, i am meeting family in Nashville. We planned to stop in Memphis because Ive heard it is a pretty cool city, but apparently its Elvis Week. Kind of messed up some of my plans. thanks for the help, i will look into those options.

Sounds like a fun trip (if a 3000 mile trip can ever be fun.)

Enjoy and good luck with the hotels along the way!

:)
