Broken Bow/ Mountain Fork River

Can you swim in the river in this area? Is the water clear? How far is Broken Bow from the Mountain Fork River?

Broken Bow/ Mountain Fork River

the river is about 7 miles from town. There are areas that you can swim in and some that you can%26#39;t. What exactly do you want to do or where are you staying at and maybe I can be more help.

Broken Bow/ Mountain Fork River

My husband and I were just wanting to get away for the weekend. I was thinking of staying at Pine Meadow cabins or Rivers Edge cottages. Normally, we like to float the river in a raft, tube, or canoe but i am 8 months pregnant. So, I thought it would just be nice to be able to get in the river in swim if you can do that. We usually go to the Guadalupe River or Concan TX to float the river but wanted something closer to home. We also enjoy fishing. Let me know your thoughts or if there is somewhere better to stay.

We just arrived back from our Beavers Bend vacation (annual trip). We actually stayed at the new Hochatown Lodge (log cabin look) and it was WONDERFUL!!! Another great place to stay if you are looking for a cabin is Creative Escapes Cabins. Wonderful people and beautifuly kept cabins. As far as swimming in the river it was pretty cool this past weekend because they have opened the Dam due to all of the recent rainfall. This has also made it very pretty with the rolling water and soothing sound. We hung out on the lake which was a perfect cool temperature and clear to the bottom! We have a jetboat too and we were able to put her in and dock right up to the swimming area so the kids could swim. We hated to come home...it was exactly what we needed to relax and enjoy each other.

I hope this helped and hope you have a wonderful time. Congrats on the baby!!

In Beavers Bend State Park, there is a place that has paddle boats %26amp; an area that is like an %26#39;old swimming hole%26#39;. I think it%26#39;s pretty shallow %26amp; there is a little beach type area there. There were a lot of little kids in it when I was there in July. If I remember correctly it is close to where 259A connects to 259 on the N end of the loop %26amp; it might be right there, I can%26#39;t remember exactly. If you%26#39;re going N on 259, take the 2nd 259A %26amp; you%26#39;ll find it. It will be on the rt.

The river empties out of the lake. It runs right behind the restaurant in the park but there are no swimming signs there. Farther out Hwy 70 to the East are places to rent kayaks %26amp; canoes. The people I met said they liked the one that was ww canoe or something like that. They had some easy water to travel, not rough white water. You may be able to go in somewhere around there, I%26#39;m not sure. The park will have brochures in the office of things you can do in the area. They are very helpful in there %26amp; will be able to tell you where you can find what you are looking for.

Best wishes for you all %26amp; the baby!

anytime you want to float contact me. I will take you personally.
