ATC Training near airport

My son will be attending the Air Traffic Control academy located at the airport. He will need lodging nearby.

Any personal recommendations of places to stay for 3-4 months.

How is the public transportation in the area? Will he need his own car to get around?

Thanks

There are several apartment complexes that cater to the ATC school. Have him check with them for a list, I bet they have one available. Then have him look at these websites:

apartmentratings.com/rate/OK-Oklahoma-City.h鈥?/a>

and

apartmentreviews.net/ratings/ok-oklahoma-cit鈥?/a>

For ideas of which ones he might want to avoid.

Public transportation is pretty much non-existent in OKC. His best bet is to bring his own vehicle.

Here%26#39;s the link where your son can check the apartments and hotels list:

For long term, he%26#39;ll be looking at apartments. My last couple trips, I%26#39;ve stayed with a friend. But before that, I usually stayed at Walnut Gardens or Apple Tree. They%26#39;re a little more expensive, but they%26#39;re a little better apartments from my experience (about 3 years ago).

There is a van shuttle that does pick ups at all apartments to the Academy and back. For info on that, use the link above, go back to student sevices and van schedule is on the left. Pick up is around 6/6:15 for a 7am class. There are buses for around town, but I haven%26#39;t used them. From my experience, it%26#39;s a lot better to have your own car. From Apple Tree, Walmart and a few fast food places are walking distance. From Walnut Gardens it would be a good walk to a store or restaurant. Most of the apartments are not that close (walking wise) to stores and restaurants.
