I%26#39;ll be in town this weekend with some girls to see Wicked downtown at the Civic Center. I was wondering some nice fun places to catch dinner before the show... any idea/recommendations??
Pre-Theater Dinner
If you want to walk and not drive, head over to Bricktown. There are many restaurants there - something for everyone.

My recommendations?
Fun and Casual - Bricktown Brewery ($$), Chelino%26#39;s ($$) or Jazmo%26#39;s Bourbon Street Cafe ($$)
Elegant but Excellent - The Mantel Wine Bar and Bistro ($$$$) (NOT to be confused with Mickey Mantle%26#39;s)
Quick and Very Good - Falcone%26#39;s Pizza (not listed) ($) or Earl%26#39;s Rib Palace ($),
Something different - Abuelo%26#39;s Mexican Food Embassy ($$$)
There are also some restaurants in the hotels, but I am not familiar enough with them to make a recommendation.
If you want to stray from downtown, we can make more suggestions.
Enjoy dinner, the show and your visit to our city!
:)
Pre-Theater Dinner
One error in my previous post - Bourbon Street should be the same $$$ rating as Abuelo%26#39;s.
Sorry
:)
I would add Trattoria Il Centro just south of the Civic Center in the Montgomery Building ($$-$$$)
Thanks for your replies!! We were wanting to stay in the downtown area... I%26#39;ll check out the places you all mentioned!!

In case the Il is confusing:

Bricktown offers a lot of variety, but it is a pretty good hike from the Civic Center, especially if you%26#39;re in fancy clothes and the heat index is still in the upper 90s, as it is now. Google puts the driving distance at about a mile, depending on where in Bricktown you are.
Trattoria is about two blocks from the Civic Center. I recommend it highly. We usually dine there before the symphony, and it%26#39;s an easy trek (especially if you cut through a parking lot or two).
Also close by the Civic Center and quite good is the Cafe inside the OKC Museum of Art. Probably a little pricier than Trattoria, but the Cafe offers more than Italian. http://www.okcmoa.com/p/7187/Default.aspx
I have not tried the Soleil, inside the Colcord Hotel, but friends rave about it. It is probably about 4 blocks from the Civic Center. http://www.soleil-xo.com/home.html If you don%26#39;t have a place to stay, the Colcord is lovely and its location near the Civic Center can%26#39;t be beat.
There is an option to walking - the Oklahoma Spirit Trolley system.
The timing would have to be checked, but anyone can catch the Blue line in Bricktown and take it to a stop within a very short walk of the Civic Center.
So, depending on where a person is staying, one could walk to Bricktown for dinner, catch the trolley to the Civic Center, and then walk back to the hotel.
Here is the link to a map of the Blue Line with its stops:

Hours are:
Every 20 minutes
Monday - Wednesday: 10am - 8pm
Thursday - Saturday: 10am - 11pm
Here is the link to the entire Spirit Trolley system:

Just want to make sure our visitor knows all the options.
