Advice for Girls' Weekend!??

Hi! I will be flying down from Seattle to meet my life-long best girlfriend for a weekend of US time (Oct 18-22). She recently transfered to OSU and lives in Stillwater. We will be in OKC either Friday or Saturday night for one night of fun and one day and morning of hanging out and exploring.

Some background on us - which should help with age/appropriate activity recommendations - both are mid 20%26#39;s, we enjoy comedy, kareoke, country music, great food, and beer! Neither of us is single, so one thing we are both interested in avoiding is the meat market atmosphere. We also - CLEARLY - want to be and feel safe out by our lonesomes.

Advice on the following please:

Nightlife: Most of what I am reading is leading me to Bricktown. However, we DO want to avoid as we said the meat market. We want a great dinner out that night that is moderately priced and some entertainment. Any advice on what that area of town is like?

Hotel: I am considering the Colcord or the Ren. Marriot. I stayed in March at the Ren in Fort Worth and have also stayed in the Ren Seattle, so I have been pleased with them in the past. I know nothing about the Colcord other than what I find online. I wanted to stay at the Skivin, but it appears to be booked. Am I going in the right direction for a nice 4/5 star place for two girls to relax?

Daytime Activity: We would love to shop boutiques or unique shops, grab a lunch and maybe get a pedicure. A real relaxing, fun girls day out. No malls please. Ideas? Recommendations on places for a pedicure in the area?

Thank you SO much everyone for your responses (in advance of course!) If you ever need recommendations for Seattle, let me know. We have a beautiful city here, and can%26#39;t wait to see OKC too!

Advice for Girls' Weekend!??

Hi Christa!!

Bricktown is a good place as it offers a wide variety of restaurants for you to choose from. There%26#39;s a Zio%26#39;s for Italian, Chelino%26#39;s (my favorite) and Abuelo%26#39;s for Mexican food or Bourbon Street for

Cajun, The Bricktown Brewery offers some great food too as well as beer. : ) There are many more, these are just a few. Also, Nonna%26#39;s is in the heart of Bricktown is good too; you can look up the menu online and they have a great little gift shop. These are just some examples there are many more to choose from.

Everything is within walking distance of each other in Bricktown and if you stay at either hotel whether the Colcord or the Renaissance

you you%26#39;ll be able to walk toBricktown. It is well patroled and pretty safe.

Just north of Downtown there are a variety of shops on Western Ave. Check out The French Cowgirl (a boutique) and grab some lunch at Musashi%26#39;s (Japanese) or Sushi Neko or Cafe Nova. Or you may just want a burger and beer at VZD%26#39;s. You can get your pedicures at Eden on Western next to VZD%26#39;s. You can check them out online as well.

Also, you can check out the Paseo District which is also close to

Downtown. There are art galleries lining Paseo as well as some restaurants. The Paseo Grill, Galileo%26#39;s and Sauced (pizza) All are

great places to eat.

When you get into town you may want to pick up The Oklahoma Gazette its an arts and entertainment newspaper and they are free and can be found in most restaurants around town. They will list everything that is going on in OKC as far as arts and entertainment. You can also check them out online as well. There may be some

events going on at that time you will want check out.

Hope you enjoy your stay in OKC!! :)

The Biting Sow is a must. Live music by Doc Blues and the beer and drinks are the coldest and cheapest in town with plenty of parking and it is right on the river walk.

I agree with Lisa91%26#39;s ideas. Bricktown IS very safe, well lit and easy to get around in.
