Vegetarian eating in OC

Hi

We are coming through OC as part of our route 66 trip late summer 2007. Fliying over from UK to start it in Chicago.

We are looking for vegetarian eating places. We know we can use fast food chains if nothing else is available, and we know we can google for them but would prefer local recommendations.

Trattoria il Centro, just west of downtown, is a wonderful Italian restaurant with several vegetartian dishes.

We like Terra Luna Grille, 7408 N. Western Okc. This is the Nichols Hills area. There are other great places around there as well.

Is Terra Luna still open? I heard that it closed; it was one of our favorites.

I would definitely check out the Queen of Sheba Restaurant at 23rd St. and MacArthur. It%26#39;s a wonderful Ethiopian restaurant that opened within the past year. They have great vegetarian options and the Ethiopian food is as good as any I have eaten in Washington, D.C.

lots of vietnamese restaurants near the Classen area which have great food.

A must-see is Thai Palace in Edmond. A twin of it was on 23rd St. near Univ. until 2 mos. ago. Same menu, but totally different now (don%26#39;t go there; not memorable anymore).

The one in Edmond is run by orig. owner. The food is from Northern Thailand, seemingly a world away from Bangkok food. This is the best Thai food I%26#39;ve ever eaten, incl. (esp.!) Manhattan, and other large US cities. Don%26#39;t miss it.

Not totally vegetarian, but many dishes (of the 187 total) are, or can be tweaked, at your request. The heat levels can rise to the truly infernal, if that suits your palate. I%26#39;ve never tasted hotter food anywhere (I hold the record for # of ***s of heat level), but delicious, hot or not.

Nick is the very quiet guy who runs the place. Lovely gentleman.
